Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.
What you will do
We are looking for a hands on, self driven Manufacturing Engineer with a strong sense of urgency to support and improve our body in white (BIW) manufacturing processes.
In this role, you will work on the shop floor, lead improvement activities, and collaborate closely with operators, technicians, and cross functional teams. Your focus is to help us build safe, high quality products in a cost effective way while driving a culture of continuous improvement and built in quality. We will teach you the technical details and systems you need; what we need from you is ownership, energy, and a willingness to learn.
Core Responsibilities
• Support and improve BIW manufacturing processes, techniques, equipment, gauging, IT systems, and tooling to reduce defects and improve quality.
• Spend time on the shop floor to confirm that tooling and fixtures perform to expected quality and safety standards; follow up quickly on any issues.
• Learn and apply new technologies and systems to improve our assembly line performance.
• Develop practical, cost effective engineering solutions that can adapt to product and volume changes.
• Participate in and support project planning, including:
o Pre studies and feasibility checks.
o Volume and capacity assessments.
o Follow up on actions, timing, and results with stakeholders.
• Use benchmarking and best practices from inside and outside the organization to improve our processes.
• Listen to and understand the needs of internal and external customers, especially production and quality.
• Clearly communicate ideas, problems, and solutions in both written and verbal form.
• Work collaboratively to solve problems, support root cause analysis, and help prevent and de escalate conflicts.
• Take initiative to identify risks and potential issues early, and act quickly to minimize their impact.
• Contribute actively to our continuous improvement culture, with a focus on:
o Waste elimination.
o Built in quality and error proofing.
o A safe, clean, and organized working environment.
Who are you?
- You are hands on and enjoy being on the shop floor, close to the product and the people building it.
- You are self driven, take ownership of your tasks, and follow through without needing constant direction.
- You have a strong sense of urgency and respond quickly when problems arise.
- You are a team player who builds collaborative relationships with colleagues across functions and levels.
- You can make decisions with limited information, influence others when changes are needed, and stay calm under pressure.
- You communicate clearly and respectfully, making it easy for others to work with you and trust you
- BS degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a similar field (automotive or BIW experience is a plus, but not required).
