About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our machining team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering student to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, machining operations, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced engineers to support daily manufacturing activities, optimize machining processes, and contribute to the development of efficient production methods. This position is a stepping stone toward potential full-time employment within our organization.

Who are you?

• Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field at an accredited university or college.

• Applicants must have completed 30 semester hours before the internship starts and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.

• Basic understanding of machining processes, CNC programming, and manufacturing principles.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with CAD/CAM software is a plus.

• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Prior internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or machining is a plus but not required.

• Assist in the troubleshooting of CNC and manual machining equipment.

• Support process development and optimization to improve machining efficiency, quality, and safety.

• Collect and analyze data related to machining performance, tool life, and part quality.

• Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for machining issues.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00.The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
