We are the Heart.  We develop and produce heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions and axles for Volvo Group Brands.  In operation since 1961, we are a proud supportive member of the community of Washington County and its surrounding areas.


Volvo GTO, Powertrain Production Hagerstown now has positions at our external warehouse. We are looking for a highly engaged colleague that wants to join us and the Volvo Group to learn our business achieve our vision of becoming the most desired, innovative, and successful transport solution provider in the world. 


As an External Warehouse Technician, you will be part of a small team, consisting of other warehouse technicians and specialists. You will report directly to the External Warehouse Manager. You will support the day-to-day operations by ensuring timely material flows to the production facility with the correct quantity and quality. Together with your team you will continuously develop yourselves and find ways to enhance the overall safety, efficiency, cost, and environment within the external warehouse.


This position is open for 1st and 2nd shifts. 


Main activities and responsibilities for these roles
Receive and store material in designated shelf locations or areas in warehouse. Assign storage location, as required, within established procedures. Identify and verify material as to quantity and specifications.
Continuously improve processes and ways of working.
Identify, prioritize, and solve problems together with your small team.
Maintain Safety in all aspects of operations.

Candidates are required to have previous warehouse experience and have operated various types of Powered Industrial Truck equipment and a High School Diploma/GED or 5+ years relevant work experience.

 

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $24.00/ hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
