Purpose                                     

 

Provide financial leadership to the operations teams to drive better business results and operating efficiencies

 

Dimensions

                             

 Responsible for factory financial estmiates (GTO IM, GTO PL and GTO REMAN), gap analysis and driving corrective & preventive actions. Provides strategic recommendations for improving operational performance.

 

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for the numbers reported in P&L & BS. Have the full responsibility for the data quality and relevance across all pillars of the results of the Plant.

  • Support all relevant parties to ensure that accounting practices are in compliance with all relevant accounting standards, legal regulations and Company values and practices.

  • Preperation of estimates for GTO IM, REMAN & PL organisations.

  • Preparation of all daily, weekly, period end operational performance reports with analysis for gaps and recommendations for corrective action. KPI's follow-up;

  • Ensure the preparation of timely, accurate and relevant financial reports to facilitate understanding and analysis of the business and business opportunities. Assists plant Controller in the monthly presentation of operating results to plant management.

  • Analyzing and reporting all  variances, advising provisions and corrective enties and performing RCA. Be responsible for all account reconciliation related to the plant. Provides in-depth analysis on variances to plan and forecast

  • Conduct the period-end close activities to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks, including identification and resolution of unusual items and issues in a timely and accurate manner. Provide necessary information to ACC with required approvals as per agreed time plan to facilitate timely closing.

  • Audit responsibility – Statutory, Hard Close, Annual, Tax. Ensure all audit issues are closed timely; Support ACC and CFO with all the necessary information for them to prepare the necessary schedules as per agreed timetable. Support auditors with explanations, clarifications and documentations as may be necessary as per time plan agreed.

  • Assists with the annual budget preparation and analysis.

  • Responsible for BA’s working capital management, helping Corporate Controller with regular forecast on fund requirements that will facilitate them to manage liquidity.

  • Assisting the VPS/Cost Deployment Controller in tracking and validating the identified actions.

  • Performs the analysis for product cost,  Investments, inventory & systems Control. Communicate and coordinate with the respective controllers to drive the identified improvement actions coming from the result & KPI analysis.

  • Monthly Signoff of plant controlling team checklist with controls with Plant Controller. Update of monthly dashboard of the team activities.

  • Develop KPIs for measuring performance of month closing and reporting activities. Measure, follow up and communicate the same. This to include plant functions, ACC, Shared Services, VGRE, GTT, IT Services deliverables vis-à-vis BA/BU and vice versa also.            

  • Preparation of the disclosure statements & sign off with CFO for the results reported in BCS as correct and in accordance with Volvo FPP

  • Partner with the coach to train both IW & OW in the financial matters.

  • Support in Digitalisation initiatives by upgrading the exiting processes using latest technologies (Power Query, Power BI, Power Apps, SAP S4 HANA).

Additional Information

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

  • ICWA / CA with 9-12 years’ experience or M.com from reputed university with 11-14 years’ experience

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, corporate finance, accounting, taxation, manufacturing process flow, manufacturing costing principles—understands P&L and balance sheet dynamics

  • Manufacturing experience is a must. Experience in Supply Chain Mgt is an added advantage.

  • ERP experience is a must in PP, MM, FI, CO & SD.

  • Proven ability to work independently with minimum oversight and has a track record of meeting deadlines. Flexibility to take on a wide variety of topics and tasks

  • Present accounting, taxation and material flow subjects to a diverse audience in understandable terms. Strong interpersonal skills and attentiveness to detail. A positive approach to problem solving.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence others, build relationships and manage conflicts, both internal and external; recognizes the importance of networking and a positive working relationship; willingness to learn and share knowledge; values the diversity of ideas

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; capable of formal and informal discussions and presentations at all levels of the business – internal and external; has a professional presence;

  • Strong MS office, Power Query, Power BI & Power Apps is preferred.
