Purpose
- To support the VP GTO IM Hoskote and VP Business Control CVA KD in optimizing and driving the performance of the plant.
- To support the REMAN India Head and REMAN Central Business Control in optimizing and driving the performance of the REMAN operations.
- To support the GTO Production Logistics India Head and GTO Production Logistics Central Business Control in optimizing and driving the performance of the Production Logistics operations.
- To lead and develop the Business Control function into Next Gen Controller’s role of Business Partner, Expert and Business Process Re-engineer in order to provide efficient and effective business controlling of the plant.
- To propose and decide on principles and actions to optimize the total PRD flow of the business from a financial perspective, in terms of performance and risk management.
Dimensions
- As Head of Business Control, you should work with the Regional and Central business controllers in the organization to establish and govern the business control function in the plant and give appropriate challenge/support to the business line manager and functional heads to drive performance.
- A prerequisite for success is to develop and maintain an effective cooperation with a number of stakeholders across the Supply Chain.
- As Head of Business Control you direct and develop the Business Controlling team into Next Gen Controller
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Support plant head in site leadership and to drive implementation and follow-up of strategic projects and activities.
- Drive and deliver SQDCEP KPI targets as part of the plant management team.
- Act as an advanced navigator and a business partner to the plant management team.
- Responsible for business control function, developing the team in leadership and to act as Next Gen Controllers.
- Translate Strategic Objectives into CapEx, OpEx and cash flow statement for the plant and challenge the outcome.
- Challenge and drive actions for Financial KPIs to close gaps. Drive proactive controlling through respective controllers and drive the cost awareness in management team in order to achieve short and long term financial targets.
- Direct the estimate process for the plant.
- Drive cost improvements through VPS tools.
- Partner with plant manager in initiating/implementing and follow up of restructuring and improvement projects.
- Drive financial guidelines and calculation methods in accordance with the Group Truck Operations.
- Direct and drive the Investment Process, Standard Cost of Sales Process and PRD Business Administration Process for the plant.
- Direct and drive the plant management in maintaining the required internal control environment in the PRD process.
- Support and drive the plant management in documenting the process deviations, advocating process adherence and supporting the process owners in business process re-engineering.
- Responsible for the P&L and balance sheet of the BA for the legal entity for various financial audits. Optimize working capital in the BA.
- Handle all joint company matters with regard to finance, represent the plant in the Finance committee and making sure that legal entity shared resources deliver as per the service levels agreed.
- Responsible for the internal and external financial audits
Authorities
- PRD scope and Interfaces in end to end supply chain for the plant (Process set up, Internal Control set up, Business Administration local set up, financial and legal compliance) and administrative authority for reviewing and change in the business process set up.
- Authority in accordance with financial rules and policies defined by AB Volvo.
- Authority to make decisions in accordance with AB Volvo’s Authorization rules
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Professional Certification as Management Accountant / Chartered Accountant (ICWA / CA) with 8 years of senior leadership experience and 15-20 years post qualification experience.
- Manufacturing experience is a must. A good understanding of end to end supply chain process in a manufacturing set up covering Product Development, Purchase, Logistics, Manufacturing and Sales processes.
- Experience in handling high value and organization transformation projects is preferred
- ERP experience is a must in end to end supply chain. SAP end user exposure to all modules (PP, MM, FI, CO & SD) is preferred
- High and solid level in the leading leaders competences.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence others, build relationships and manage conflicts, both internal and external.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; capable of formal and informal discussions and presentations at all levels of the business – internal and external; has a professional presence
Key Success Factors
The Head of Business Control needs to be energetic with a proactive approach to problem solving and should have outstanding communication skills, networking and interpersonal skills. Furthermore he/she should work with a strong professionalism and a high integrity. It is important to have knowledge of the overall business fundamentals, customer needs, stakeholders needs and key players for the plant. The position requires outstanding analytical skills as well as ability to be strong in execution. The position requires taking a well-ordered approach to solving problems and acting despite obstacles, resistance, or ambiguity
