Job Purpose
To ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all paint shop equipment and utilities by planning and executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities, thereby ensuring high uptime, consistent paint quality, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Who are you?
A. Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of all paint shop equipment including:
1. Pretreatment (PT) and Electrodeposition (ED) systems
2. Paint booths & Ovens
3. Conveyors (Overhead, Skid, and Slat types)
4. Air Handling Units (AHUs), Blowers, and Exhaust systems
5. Circulation pumps, dosing systems, and scrubbers etc
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, or automation faults and restore equipment with minimal downtime.
- Monitor and maintain process parameters like temperature, pressure, flow, and humidity etc to ensure paint quality.
- Support maintenance of robotic painting and sealing systems (Fanuc / ABB / Yaskawa).
B. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Prepare and execute Autonomous , preventive maintenance schedules (AM/PM/TPM) for all paint shop zones.
- Conduct predictive maintenance using vibration analysis, thermography, and energy audits etc
- Track and improve MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
- Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical spares.
- Implement best practices in maintenance
C. Automation & Control Systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA-based control systems for booths, ovens, and utilities.
- Backup and document PLC logic and HMI configurations regularly (Siemens / Allen Bradley).
- Interface with robots, drives (ABB, Danfoss, Yaskawa), and sensors for process automation.
- Support integration of IoT and digital monitoring systems for data logging and energy management.
D. Utilities & Energy Management
- Monitor and maintain power distribution panels (PCC, MCC) within the paint shop.
- Optimize energy consumption in AHUs, ovens, compressors, and paint booths.
- Maintain compressed air, chilled water, and exhaust systems in coordination with utilities.
- Support implementation of energy-saving and sustainability projects.
- Maintenance of Paint shop fire protection systems
E. Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare maintenance plan & maintain maintenance records, checklists, breakdown logs, and calibration certificates etc.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.
- Support IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 audits with documentation and evidence.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for repetitive breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Adhere to specific EHS and LOTO procedures.
F. Continuous Improvement & Projects
- Participate in Kaizen, TPM, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Drive projects to improve equipment reliability, reduce cycle time, and minimize paint losses.
- Support installation and commissioning of new paint lines, robots, and automation upgrades.
- Work with OEMs (e.g., Dürr, ABB, Eisenmann, Giffin, Parker) for system upgrades and performance improvements.

Qualification & Experience
Education:
- B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics.
Experience:
- 6–10 years in paint shop maintenance in automobile or manufacturing industries.
- Exposure to robotic painting systems and PLC-based process control preferred.
