What you will do

At Volvo Group, you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry, and society at large. In this role, you will lead the industrialization project to adapt our Paint shop for the production of Volvo truck models at our Hoskote operations. You will coordinate all surface treatment engineering deliverables within the project scope, ensuring alignment with Volvo’s project methodologies such as R&D30, DVP, and PSM. You will anchor concepts and technical solutions across functions, manage preparations for project builds, and oversee the start of production. Engaging with both local and global engineering networks, you will drive change, foster collaboration, and ensure the successful delivery of manufacturing solutions that meet Volvo’s high standards.

You will join a dynamic and diverse team within International Manufacturing, Cab over Trucks, where collaboration and innovation are at the heart of everything we do. Reporting to the Head of Industrial Development in Hoskote, you will work alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about delivering excellence and supporting each other’s growth.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Plan, monitor, and control project team activities to ensure timely and successful industrialization of products and processes.
  • Develop and implement project communication strategies to secure information flow, foster team spirit, and build a shared understanding of manufacturing strategies.
  • Ensure manufacturing deliverables are achieved in the agreed project phases.
  • Act as a key contact, together with the purchaser, in discussions with external suppliers and coordinate projects across functions.

Skills & Competences:

  • A degree in engineering and at least 15 years of experience in surface treatment within the automotive or general industry 
  • Proven project management and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive results.
  • Strong communication, planning, and analytical abilities, with a track record of fostering teamwork and engaging stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment and fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of Volvo systems, including the Volvo Production System (VPS) and Volvo Operational Concept (VOC). (plus)
  • Experience with the Master process level A-C and chemical know-how in surface treatment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize complex challenges, and willingness to travel as needed.
