About the Position
This is a specialist level, where technicians are assigned responsibilities for performing highly skilled mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of coaches/ buses. Responsibilities may include troubleshooting repair needs, independently completing major repair projects, or directing projects requiring a team effort, including working with others in the completion of some work.
Core Responsibilities
- Work independently with minimal supervision in the Beaumont, Lake Charles, Sulfur area
- Work from a van, customer location, or other location
- This position is temporary, with an estimated duration of one year, however that is conditional and could change
- This position could transition to a permanent, full-time position
- Monday – Friday, 7am-4pm, plus on call work schedule, however hours may vary depending on business needs
- Diagnose and repair electrical, HVAC, suspension, pneumatic and/or brake systems
- Respect and care for the customer and their equipment
- Act as a worthy representative of Prevost at all times
- Respect the rules and guidelines of the company
- Comply with the quality and safety standards of the organization
- Complete documentation thoroughly and timely according to company requirements
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
- Ability to look up parts efficiently and independently
- Be proficient in electronic media and laptop use
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent or graduation from a certified technical school
- 4 years of qualified mechanical experience substituting one year of related technical training for a year of experience
- Proactively acquire and expand knowledge of the latest technology and systems in the industry
