Experienced Mechanical Engineer

What you will do

At Volvo Construction Equipment Technology (China), you will contribute directly to the transformation of our products, our industry, and a more sustainable society.
As an Experienced Mechanical Engineer, you will take ownership of critical structural systems that define the durability, safety, and performance of Volvo’s flagship loaders and excavators — including in the era of electrification.

You will:

• Design, develop, and optimize critical structural components, such as undercarriages, linkages, frames, and major load-bearing structures for global wheel loaders and excavators.

• Own components across the full lifecycle — from concept design and CAD, through verification, industrialization, and SOP — ensuring cost efficiency, quality compliance, and alignment with Volvo’s global machine standards.

• Act as a technical owner for assigned components/systems, making informed engineering trade-offs between performance, durability, manufacturability, and cost.

• Collaborate cross-border in English with global engineering teams (EU, South Korea, etc.) to resolve field issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement robust design upgrades.

• Support structural solutions for electrification-related installations, including battery systems and high-voltage components, ensuring safety, robustness, and serviceability.

作为一名资深结构工程师（Experienced Mechanical Engineer），你将负责沃尔沃全球主力装载机/挖掘机产品中关键结构系统的设计与交付，这些结构系统直接决定了整机的耐久性、安全性和性能表现，在电动化时代尤为关键。

你将负责：

• 设计、开发并优化关键结构件，包括底盘、连杆机构、车架、主要承载结构等，服务于全球市场的装载机和挖掘机产品。

• 端到端负责结构件全生命周期：从概念设计、CAD建模、仿真验证到工业化和SOP，兼顾成本、质量和全球标准要求。

• 作为所负责结构件/系统的技术Owner，在性能、耐久性、可制造性和成本之间做出专业工程判断。

• 与欧洲、韩国等全球工程团队进行英语技术协作，共同解决现场问题，开展根因分析并实施设计改进。

• 支持电动化相关结构与安装系统（电池、高压部件等）的结构设计，确保安全性、可靠性和可维护性。

Your Future Team

You will join the JTC Structure Team, a highly skilled engineering group acting as system owner for both:

• Conventional structural systems (frames, arms, linkages, undercarriages), and

• E-mobility installation systems, enabling electrified machines.

The team is deeply involved in Virtual Product Development (VPD) and physical validation, and plays a key role in ensuring that Volvo machines meet demanding requirements for durability, safety, NVH, and cost — across global markets.

Here, structural engineering is not a support function, but a core contributor to product competitiveness.

Who are you?

You are a hands-on mechanical engineer who enjoys solving complex, real-world engineering problems and taking ownership of your designs.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• 5+ years of experience in structural design for heavy machinery, preferably loaders or excavators (undercarriages, frames, linkages, attachments).

• Strong expertise in welding and fabrication technologies (arc welding, MIG, laser welding) and large steel structures, including fatigue and durability considerations.

• Experience with Mechanical Environment Evaluation (MEE), such as vibration/shock testing and FEA-based modal analysis, is highly preferred.

• Familiar with DFMEA, durability validation, and cost-driven structural optimization.

• Experience in high-voltage system or battery integration is a strong plus.

• Fluent in English, comfortable working with global engineering teams on design reviews and technical problem-solving.

• Structured, pragmatic, and confident in making engineering judgments.

• 5年以上工程机械结构设计经验，装载机/挖掘机结构件经验优先。

• 熟悉大型钢结构设计与制造，对焊接工艺（电弧焊、MIG、激光焊等）有扎实理解，并具备疲劳与耐久设计经验。

• 有 MEE（机械环境评价） 经验者优先，包括振动/冲击试验、基于FEA的模态分析等。

• 熟悉 DFMEA、结构耐久验证及以成本为导向的结构优化方法。

• 有高压系统或电池集成相关经验者加分。

• 英语流利，能够参与全球技术评审和问题解决。

• 思路清晰、务实，敢于对工程结果负责。
