Job Summary
The Technical Learning Portfolio Owner holds global ownership of the Technical Learning Portfolio for dealers. The role ensures that technical competence development enables dealer performance, supports product strategy and drives measurable business impact.
Acting as Portfolio Owner and Project Lead for the technical content production team, this role secures prioritisation, execution and quality of global technical learning solutions. The position drives Technical Global Masters competition and is accountable for delivery of Technical Train-the-Trainer (TtT) solutions to regional CD&D functions.
The role acts as Volvo CE’s technical learning authority within assigned scope.
Out of scope: internal non-technical training, Sales TtT, Sales delivery, operator training and creation of technical product information.
Job Description
Operating in a global matrix organisation, the Technical Learning Portfolio Owner translates business and product strategies into structured, scalable technical learning solutions.
The role governs the portfolio lifecycle — from strategic planning and prioritisation to delivery and performance follow-up. It ensures alignment between product launches, regional capability needs and learning production capacity.
The position collaborates closely with Product, Regions, SMEs and Learning Content Developer to ensure consistency, quality and relevance. The role balances global standards with regional adaptability and drives continuous improvement of the technical learning ecosystem.
Main Tasks / Responsibilities
Portfolio Ownership
- Own and maintain the global Technical Learning Portfolio roadmap
- Prioritise initiatives based on business value, risk and strategic importance
- Secure portfolio governance, lifecycle management and resource alignment
- Approve technical learning solutions before deployment
Program & Production Leadership
- Act as Project Lead for the technical production team
- Drive planning, execution and quality assurance of technical learning deliverables
- Manage dependencies towards product launches and regional readiness
- Monitor delivery performance and mitigate risks
Technical Masters & TtT
- Drive and develop Global Technical Masters
- Define competence progression and certification structures
- Deliver and continuously improve Technical Train-the-Trainer programs
- Ensure global standards while enabling regional implementation
Stakeholder Management
- Align with Product organisations and technical experts
- Collaborate with Learning Content Developer on learning structure and framework
- Engage regional CD stakeholders to ensure relevance and scalability
- Act as escalation point within assigned technical scope
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Define and monitor relevant KPIs
- Use data and dealer feedback to drive improvements
- Anticipate future skills needs linked to electrification, connectivity and digitalisation

- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and modern learning technologies
