What you will do

At Volvo Trucks you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. 

 

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist with extensive experience within the field of payroll, month end reporting and quality assurance.

 

Job Objectives:

 

Payroll Processing

  • Payroll processing for monthly paid employees on PaySpace.
  • Importing of hours as per the Time & Attendance system.
  • Use of Employee Self Service (ESS) for leave, claims and more.
  • Monthly payroll exports and maintenance.
  • Full payroll accountability.
  • Preparation of cheque requisitions, checking against signed off payroll reports and exporting of the salary files to the bank.
  • Adhoc payroll functions including UI19’s, Certificate of Services and Quarterly Statistics.

Reporting

  • Monthly reporting at country level.
  • Complex ad hoc reports when required.
  • MIBCO Reconciliation.
  • General Ledger Exports.
  • Other month end returns.

System Maintenance

  • Ensure PaySpace system data is correct and accurate on a monthly basis.
  • General System Maintenance on PaySpace.

Risk Control

  • Minimise risk within the payroll function.
  • Support all Internal and External Audits.
  • Quality assurance within the payroll function.
  • Investigate errors and take corrective action.

ASK HR Service Now & Telephone System

  • Use of the ASK HR Service Now system on a daily basis to liaise with customers in respect of payroll input and queries.
  • Use the HR Service Centre call centre telephone system.

Customer Service

  • Ensure high quality customer service is given within the payroll function.
  • Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure that all policies are adhered to according to business requirements within the payroll function.

Qualification & Job Experience:

  • Matric (Grade 12).
    Financial/HR Diploma added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a large/complex payroll.
  • Good financial acumen.
  • PaySpace Payroll and ESS System experience essential.
  • Knowledge and experience of maintaining a Time & Attendance system.
  • SAP Success Factor experience would be an added advantage.
  • Year-end submissions.

Key Competencies

  • Expert level knowledge Tax Legislation in South Africa.
  • HR Operations/Policies.

  • SAP Finance.
  • Advance Excel Skills.
  • Confidentiality.
