What you will do
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide expert technical support to the dealer network, enabling effective resolution of product issues, reducing warranty costs, and driving continuous improvement in product quality and customer satisfaction.
Job Objectives:
- Provide advanced technical and diagnostic support to the dealer network to uphold high standards of product quality and ensure accurate fault resolution.
- Manage and monitor outstanding technical campaigns by proactively communicating with owners, operators and dealers to ensure timely completion and compliance.
- Oversee the analysis of component failures including cost, frequency, and root cause through effective delegation, driving both technical solutions and opportunities for financial support where appropriate.
- Advise and support both internal and external stakeholders by providing accurate, up to date technical information that contributes to consistently high product and service quality.
- Take ownership of warranty expenditure by ensuring swift and appropriate corrective action on failed components and by promoting sound warranty practices linked to the correct protocol and compliance across the network.
- Ensure high claim quality by conducting targeted training and structured audits for both internal teams and external dealer stakeholders, reinforcing compliance with warranty processes and policies.
- Represent Volvo professionally in customer meetings by clearly presenting technical information, translating complex data into meaningful insights, and ensuring outcomes that protect Volvo’s interests while supporting customer understanding and confidence.
- Develop, track, and present key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure dealer network performance in warranty handling, technical quality, breakdown frequency, and campaign execution—enabling data-driven decision‑making and continuous improvement.
- Manage and assist with VAS calls to ensure quick resolution when escalated to, for both local and cross border breakdowns.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on vehicle breakdown trends, identifying recurring technical issues and opportunities for improvement at both dealer and market level.
- Represent South Africa in Volvo Trucks (VT) network forums and meetings related to technical, quality, and warranty matters, ensuring local insights, performance trends, and market challenges are accurately communicated while aligning with global standards and improvement initiatives.
- Participate actively in cross-market discussions, share best practices, and support the implementation of global technical and warranty processes within the South African market.

Qualification & Job Experience:
- Grade 12, NTC3 Diesel trade.
- Preferred Experience, Technical Skills and Knowledge.
- 5 years as a qualified Diesel Technician
- 3 years in a Supervisory position, in a heavy commercial transport Industry.
