Are you passionate about industrial networks, cybersecurity, and control systems? We are seeking motivated Master’s thesis students to join our cutting-edge project focused on analyzing and enhancing Operational Technology (OT) network security.
About the Project:
You will research complex, high-level diagrams of the OT network topology, analyzing traffic flows between field devices, controllers, and supervisory systems. The project involves delving into specific subsystems such as PLCs, HMIs, or machine clusters, evaluating protocols, communication patterns, and identifying potential vulnerabilities. Additionally, you will assess security measures based on recognized standards like IEC 62443 and NIST, and propose practical improvements such as network segmentation, access control, continuous monitoring, and organizational policies, training, and incident response plans.
Main Responsibilities:
- Map and visualize the OT network topology, identifying critical points and traffic flows
- Conduct detailed analysis of subsystems, protocols, and vulnerabilities
- Evaluate current security architecture and recommend enhancements
- Contribute to technical reports and presentations
Who You Are:
- Enrolled in a Master’s program related to Engineering, Information Security, Control Systems, or similar fields
- Interested in industrial networks, cybersecurity, and OT governance
- Possess good communication skills in English
- Able to work collaboratively and analytically
Project Deliverables:
- High-level OT network topology diagram
- Detailed analysis of specific subsystems
- Vulnerability and security gap assessment
- Recommendations for technical and organizational improvements
- Oral presentation of findings
