We Are Looking for a Thesis Student!
Are you a student in Mechanical Engineering or Energy Engineering with an interest in industrial processes and sustainability? We are seeking a motivated thesis student to contribute to our efforts in reducing energy consumption and environmental impact at the Volvo plant in Köping.
Project Overview:
Heat treatment is an energy-intensive process, and improving its efficiency is crucial for lowering environmental impact. To support Volvo’s journey towards sustainability, we aim to develop an energy mapping model for heat treatment processes. This model will help us understand energy usage and identify opportunities for improvements.
Your Tasks Will Include:
- Conducting a comprehensive literature study on energy mapping and heat treatment processes
- Gathering data and information about the current processes at Volvo Köping
- Developing a model for energy mapping of heat treatment
- Applying the model to evaluate the processes
- Documenting your findings and recommendations
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related technical program
- Analytical and systematic skills for data collection and analysis
- Technical interest in heat treatment or industrial processes
- Basic knowledge of energy and process engineering
