Thesis: Optimizing capacity planning in highly stochastic environments
Köping, SE, 731 80
Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.
We Are Looking for a Thesis Student!
Background of Thesis Project / Summary:
The measuring quality lab faces a highly stochastic influx of production components, which exerts pressure on both equipment and personnel.
To address this challenge, there is a need to investigate how to optimize capacity—both machines and humans—by collecting data on the current situation and mapping its complex parameters.
The goal is to develop strategies that improve efficiency and resilience in a highly variable environment.
Student Profile:
Enrolled in a production engineering program or other relevant engineering disciplines focused on manufacturing operations
Interested in data collection, process optimization, and simulation tools
Thesis Subject:
The purpose of this thesis is to explore how the measuring lab can optimize its production capacity.
The assignment includes:
- Gathering information about the current state, including component influx and process flow
- Utilizing simulation or other analytical tools to develop an optimized model
- Investigating challenges and opportunities within the measuring lab
- Documenting your findings and recommendations
We Offer:
