What you will do

At Volvo Construction Equipment Germany GmbH you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the construction industry and society at large. As Senior Electronic System Engineer (f/m/d) you will: 

 

  • You will play a key role in the development of our next generation wheeled excavators, with a special focus on the development of electric machines
  • Define, analyze and document the technical system requirements and the various configuration options
  • Coordinate various activities within projects and observe all requirements regarding functional safety, operational functionality, error handling and HMI
  • Lead the tasks related to EMC testing of machines (planning, on-site support, off-site support and analysis of results)​

Your future team

We, the wheeled excavator product platform, are a dedicated team that takes care of the development of our machines from the initial idea through to series production. In addition, we also develop assistance functions for the machine operator, which are becoming increasingly important due to rising demands on productivity and safety.​

We work closely with an international team at various locations and develop machines with complex functions, leveraging the expertise present in multiple sites. Within the Electric and Electronic System team, we cover many aspects of the machine development, spanning from electric components and installation, to electronic system architecture, from product cybersecurity to software development.​

Who are you?

  • University degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering or automation engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849 or ISO 26262) and handling of related system/software requirements
  • Knowledge of electric machines, and prior work experience with them is a strong asset​
  • Strong communication and organizational skills as well as strong team orientation and the willingness to share knowledge and continuously develop yourself further
  • High sense of responsibility and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is a must; German is an advantage
