What you will do
As a Software System Engineer at Volvo Construction Equipment Germany GmbH you will contribute to the new development of Compact Wheel Loaders, both BEV and ICE machines, as well as to their product maintenance activities together with different departments locally and on other sites.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Development of HMI SW functions in cross-functional teams and implementation in our software environment
- Close collaboration with the Volvo CE Design Team and development of HMI SW functions based on the system requirements
- Realization of HMI SW functions (QML or Kotlin) and the interface in either C or Matlab/Simulink
- You are responsible for the design, implementation and integration of the HMI SW functions and their diagnostics/error handling
- You will be working in different areas, for example in the development of vehicle functions, data management and HMI SW requirements engineering
Your future team
From the first idea to serial production and beyond, the Electric and Electronic Systems Compact Wheel Loaders department is responsible for the whole E&E design, architecture and strategy. Considering quality, safety and environmental requirements as well as global laws and regulations is a matter of course for us.

Who are you?
In this role, you will bring:
- A university degree with a focus on electrical engineering, computer science or a comparable qualification
- Experience in HMI software development, preferably with QT and/or Android Studios
- Knowledge of working with requirements and functional safety
- Basic understanding of either C or Matlab/Simulink programming is an asset
- Experience in the construction machinery industry is an advantage
- A high sense of responsibility and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong team orientation and the willingness to share knowledge and continuously develop yourself
- Good written and spoken English knowledge, basic German language skills
