What you will do

At Volvo Construction Equipment Germany GmbH you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. As System Engineer Assist Systems (f/m/d) you will: 

 

  • Support the development of assistance functions for wheeled excavators in close collaboration with other departments
  • Take on responsibly for the system integration of electrical components and software functions
  • Define, analyze, and document system requirements and possible system configurations
  • Coordinate project-related activities with consideration of functional requirements, error handling, and HMI aspects
  • Cooperate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to successfully achieve project goals

Your future Team

We, the wheeled excavator product platform, are a dedicated team that takes care of the development of our machines from the initial idea through to series production. In addition, we also develop assistance functions for the machine operator, which are becoming increasingly important due to rising demands on productivity and safety.

We work closely with an international team at various locations and develop machines with complex functions, leveraging the expertise present in multiple sites. Who are you?

  • University degree in engineering, preferably in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or geodesy
  • Knowledge of vehicle bus systems such as CAN and SAE J1939
  • Experience in the construction machinery industry and with machine control systems is an advantage
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, as well as a high level of team orientation and a willingness to share knowledge and continuously develop professionally
  • High sense of responsibility and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics
  • You are fluent in English in both writing and speaking
