Production Supervisor


General Summary


Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing daily manufacturing operations to consistently exceed customer expectations. This role focuses on developing and coaching teams to achieve production targets, improve flexibility and offline quality, and reduce unnecessary costs—while fostering a safe, engaging, and motivating work environment that supports continuous improvement.


Principal Duties and Accountabilities
(Essential Functions)
•    Overall responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, cost, environmental compliance, people leadership, and on-time performance within assigned departments or large operational areas.
•    Supervise, mentor, coach, and coordinate production teams, including direct staff and support functions.
•    Approve and manage time reporting while ensuring accountability for meeting Manufacturing Operations goals and objectives.
•    Promote a positive work environment that encourages employee engagement, idea-sharing, and continuous improvement.
•    Ensure compliance with all company policies, labor agreements, OSHA regulations, safety, environmental, and health standards, while supporting teams in maintaining compliance.
•    Manage staffing needs and concerns, including safety, ergonomics, overtime, absenteeism, and discipline.
•    Lead major improvement initiatives within assigned areas by identifying waste and applying advanced Lean Manufacturing tools.
•    Influence and collaborate with peers while supporting the development of Front-Line Leaders and Front-Line People Leaders.

Who are you?


Qualifications, Education, and Experience


Required
•    Minimum of 2+ years of experience in leadership or supervisory role
•    Manufacturing and assembly experience
•    Demonstrated ability to lead teams to meet business objectives and drive results through a continuous improvement culture


Preferred
•    Associate degree or higher 
•    3–5 years of supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
•    Lean Manufacturing experience and/or Six Sigma certification
•    Experience in Automotive or Heavy Truck Manufacturing
•    Proven success in developing employees and leading operational excellence initiatives

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $85,000 - $100,000 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
