Job Description
Senior Logistics Engineer positions offered by Mack Trucks, Inc. (Macungie, Pennsylvania). Responsible for delivery, quality, cost, environmental compliance, personnel, and on-time performance for the department. Collaborate with and coach 3PL and LVO teams to meet Manufacturing Operations goals and objectives while promoting employee engagement and idea-sharing. Ensure compliance with company and 3PL contractual policies, OSHA regulations, and safety, environmental, and health standards. Support the team in compliance efforts. Review 3PL invoices for accuracy and monitor performance via KPIs presented in monthly business review meetings. Lead and support lean activities in assigned areas, identifying waste, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct root cause analysis and coordinate with 3PL to contain logistics process errors and ensure uninterrupted material supply to the factory. Initiate cross-functional feedback to support problem-solving activities. Ensure SOPs of Mack systems and processes are developed and followed by 3PL providers. Support train-the-trainer programs at the 3PL. Interface with Mack and 3PL management, along with supervisory personnel, on issues affecting quality, production, materials, engineering, and product. Review daily key performance indicators including on-time order fulfillment, pick completion volume, overtime management, and Material Direct Runners. Provide logistics systems (WMS and MRP) expertise to troubleshoot, train, and ensure correct processes and configurations during operations.
Minimum Requirements:
• Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of experience managing cost, supply and demand forecasting, and logistics.
• Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following:
o Reading prints or layouts generated by AutoCAD programs;
o Designing and implementing processes in a Greenfield or existing factory; and
o Working with Lean manufacturing concepts and principles.
• Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
