What you will do

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading the commercial development of Mack Trucks within the assigned market, with primary accountability for profitable sales growth, market share development, importer performance, strategic fleet penetration, customer relationships, and execution of Mack Export’s commercial strategy.

 

Mack Trucks Export, part of the Volvo Group, is responsible for the commercial development of the Mack brand across Latin America, Mexico, the Middle East, and Africa.

 

This position reports to the Director of Truck Sales, Mack Export and is based in Miami, Florida or Bogotá, Colombia.

 

The Regional Sales Manager will:

  • Deliver the commercial objectives established under the Volvo Group mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
  • Execute Mack Export’s strategic objectives within the assigned market.
  • Achieve defined quantitative and qualitative sales, market share, profitability, and customer development targets.
  • Develop and grow Mack truck sales volume and profitability across the assigned territory.
  • Strengthen Mack’s position within key fleet, vocational, construction, mining, logistics, and transportation segments.
  • Ensure commercial activities are conducted in accordance with The Volvo Way, the Volvo Group Code of Conduct, and all applicable company policies and guidelines.
  • Serve as a key commercial leader and primary link between Mack Trucks Export, the importer/dealer organization, and strategic customers.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership & Sales Growth

  • Drive truck sales, market share, profitability, and commercial performance within assigned export markets.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, build a robust opportunity pipeline, and identify new business, fleet, and conquest opportunities.
  • Lead customer engagement from prospecting through negotiation, closing, delivery, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Manage pricing, margins, sales programs, and commercial support to achieve growth objectives.

 

Importer & Dealer Management

  • Build strong relationships with importer leadership and sales teams.
  • Support importer performance through sales coaching, market development, training, customer targeting, and commercial initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary commercial liaison between Mack Export and assigned importers.

 

Strategic Fleet Development

  • Develop strategic fleet accounts and key customer relationships across multiple industries.
  • Understand customer operations and position Mack solutions around uptime, productivity, safety, fuel efficiency, reliability, and total cost of ownership.
  • Create account-specific growth strategies and lead competitive conquest initiatives.

 

Product, Inventory & Order Management

  • Support customers and importers with vehicle specifications, applications, and technical solutions.
  • Manage inventory, forecasting, order planning, and actions to improve inventory turnover and alignment with market demand.
  • Coordinate with internal technical and commercial teams to deliver optimal customer solutions.

 

Sales Process & Collaboration

  • Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting using Mack/Volvo sales processes and tools.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Aftermarket, Engineering, Finance, and Commercial Operations teams to support sales growth and customer success.
  • Provide market intelligence and strategic recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 8+ years of commercial, fleet, dealership, truck, transportation, automotive, or related industry experience.
  • Proven success selling complex products, developing strategic accounts, and managing dealer/importer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of fleet operations, truck applications, customer buying drivers, and commercial sales processes.
  • Experience in international business environments; Latin American market experience preferred, particularly Colombia.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.

Ideal Candidate

A highly commercial, hands-on sales professional with strong knowledge of the heavy-duty truck industry and experience working with fleet customers, dealers/importers, and cross-functional teams. The successful candidate combines strong business development skills with technical product knowledge to drive profitable growth, expand market share, develop strategic customer relationships, and execute Mack Export's commercial strategy.

 

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $128,300.00 - $158,400.00 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
