Intern: Environmental Engineer (Summer 2025)

What you will do

  • Solve real-world environmental problems involving the remanufacturing of Volvo and Mack powertrain components.
  • Support environmental staff in developing initiatives to achieve our global environmental targets.
  • Assist management with review and revision of environmental procedures and work instructions.
  • Assist with management of chemical container labeling.
  • Support the development of an environmental auditing system.
  • Identify sources of highest energy usage within the plant and propose
  • Work to reduce Volvo Black/Gray listed chemicals.

Who are you?

  • You ideally have completed at least 2 years of college in an Engineering degree program or other technical degree and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the Internship.
  • To fit our ideal profile, you will be highly motivated and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • You are able to support the company within all levels of the organization.
  • You are able to apply your knowledge on the job and communicate your knowledge to individuals within the organization.
  • You have the ability to manage multiple tasks and use analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • You are located in the Harrisburg/Middletown area and are able to commute to work throughout your internship/co-op.
  • You have at least have a 2.75 GPA
  • Summer interns may work up to 40 hours per week

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
