What you will do

We’re looking for a proactive and collaborative Continuous Improvement Coordinator and Coach to join our Service Market Logistics team at a pivotal moment of transformation and growth.

As we prepare to move into a brand-new, state-of-the-art warehouse equipped with advanced logistics automation, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape and embed a culture of continuous improvement from the ground up.

Based at our Sydney Distribution Centre in Minto, you’ll work closely with the site’s leadership team to coach, support, and drive best practice through lean methodologies, while helping to deliver safer, more efficient, and more profitable operations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coach and support the leadership team to embed a strong culture of continuous improvement using Volvo’s Performance System (VPS) and lean methodologies.
  • Plan, facilitate, and implement CI initiatives that enhance safety, efficiency, and overall site performance.
  • Lead or assist with safety investigations and collaborate with People & Culture and Injury Management partners to improve safety outcomes.
  • Drive compliance with Volvo policies and local legislation by supporting risk identification, mitigation, and monitoring of controls.
  • Coordinate communication of key legislative updates and contribute to the site’s CI and Safety Annual Plan.
  • Partner with management to develop and maintain a calendar of compliance deliverables and improvement activities.
  • Leverage tools like Power BI and Microsoft Office to support digital transformation and data-driven decision-making.
  • Deliver presentations, facilitate workshops, and guide small project teams to build CI capability across the site.

Please note : this is a primarily office-based role, and you’ll need to be present at our Minto office to support day-to-day operations.

Who are you?

  • Experience in warehouse operations (preferred), with a solid understanding of logistics and distribution.
  • Proven track record leading or supporting continuous improvement projects in a business or operational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of CI tools and techniques such as Kaizen, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, or value stream mapping.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills, with experience presenting to and working with small teams.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities while maintaining focus on long-term goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Visio or Power BI is a bonus.
  • Certificate IV or equivalent experience in Safety or Continuous Improvement is highly regarded.
