What will you do?

 

We are seeking a highly motivated, digitally minded, and forward-thinking Accountant to join our Finance team. This role offers a unique opportunity to go beyond traditional accounting by helping strengthen financial governance, advance process automation, and deliver insights that support strategic decision-making in a dynamic and evolving business environment.

 

As a trusted finance partner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial information while contributing to the continuous improvement of processes, controls, and reporting capabilities. Working closely with local and regional stakeholders, you will help drive operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and sustainable business growth. This position reports to the Manager, Accounting.

 

You will work in a collaborative, on-site, office-based environment at our location in Mississauga, Ontario, partnering daily with colleagues and dealer partners to resolve customer situations. We celebrate wins and learn from challenges, transforming together to stay flexible, fast, and customer focused. During training you will be expected to work from our Aurora, ON location.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage and process accounting transactions in accordance with local accounting standards, corporate policies, and best practices.
  • Prepare and execute supplier and business payments, ensuring accuracy, control, and compliance with delegated authority requirements.
  • Lead critical month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Prepare and review monthly trial balances, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely reporting.
  • Support compliance with local accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements while maintaining robust financial controls.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors by providing financial information, analysis, and process support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and regional finance colleagues to enhance data quality, reporting consistency, and business performance.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and modernise accounting processes through continuous improvement initiatives and digital solutions.
  • Contribute to finance transformation projects that strengthen efficiency, scalability, and decision-support capabilities across the organisation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in accounting, financial reporting, or finance operations within a dynamic corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, regulatory compliance, and reporting frameworks.
  • Experience supporting month-end close, reconciliations, financial analysis, and audit activities.
  • Familiarity with financial systems, ERP platforms, and digital finance tools.

 

Technical & Digital Capabilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with enterprise financial systems.
  • Exposure to data visualisation, reporting, automation, or business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, AI-assisted solutions, or similar technologies is considered an asset.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for automation, standardisation, and process optimisation.
  • Comfortable working in a digital environment and adapting to evolving technologies and business processes.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across functions and collaborate effectively with local and regional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
