Role Overview:

This role has overall leadership responsibility for the daily and mid-to-long term engineering operations which include supporting production.   This role will also direct and align the organization towards long-term strategies for the plant industrial system driven by new product introduction and process development. He or she will also drive continuous improvement activities to ensure the production line operates at optimal levels.

 

This role will initially be responsible for the installation and oversight of the start-up of production operations at a brand-new industrial site. After the start-up, responsibilities will be as follows:

 

  • Collaborate with site leadership team and team members in the development and formulation and implementation of mid to long term product and industrial changes
  • Develop the manufacturing engineering action plans for achieving and sustaining world-class standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards
  • Formulate and recommend manufacturing processes that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the efficiency of the operation
  • Initiate and coordinate major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, etc.)
  • Utilize a cross-functional approach in product changes, projects and improvements that fosters a positive working environment for all team members
  • Manage and support new introduction, product change implementation; Ensure cross-functional project teams are well represented and working effectively as a team
  • The position will interface with the regional and global engineering organizations and take leadership roles where applicable
  • Analyze and maintain plant capacity planning and data; alleviate process bottlenecks and constraints to improve productivity and flexibility
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required

Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and eight years’ experience or fifteen years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience leading and participating in global teams and projects preferred
  • Proven experience as a team player who can effectively motivate others and foster positive working relationships with all team members
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing and industrial production
  • Demonstrated ability to coach leadership and employees
  • Experience with manufacturing future technologies and IT technologies a plus
