Introduction

Monterrey Valley Operations (MVO) is Volvo Group’s largest current manufacturing investment and represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape the future of truck manufacturing in North America. With MVO, we are adding a third heavy-duty truck plant to our North America footprint, alongside New River Valley (NRV), which produces Volvo trucks, and Lehigh Valley Operations (LVO), which produces Mack trucks.

 

MVO is to become our first dual-brand heavy-duty truck plant in the world, producing both Volvo and Mack trucks under one roof. As part of the Business Control team, you will play a critical role in securing financial excellence, ensuring compliance, and providing meaningful insights to steer this highly strategic project.

Key Responsibilites

⦁    Lead financial controlling activities connected to inventory, material control, and fixed asset registration, ensuring correct valuation, classification, and reporting.
⦁    Ensure proper alignment with the Accounting and Financial Reporting team on accounting treatment.
⦁    Drive closing activities in SAP based operational controlling tool and Master Finance 2.0 (S/4HANA), ensuring accuracy and timeliness of postings.
⦁    Prepare high-quality reporting and analysis using Business Objects, Power BI, and other tools, with a focus on storytelling and clarity for management decision-making.
⦁    Support on financial analysis and follow-up on investments, tooling, and production-related initiatives, securing proper recognition and asset capitalization.
⦁    Partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain on material flows, obsolescence management, and risk exposure.
⦁    Act as point of contact for internal and external audits related to inventory and asset topics.
⦁    Continuous improvement of financial processes in a start-up manufacturing environment, with an emphasis on leveraging digital tools to simplify, automate, and improve efficiency. 

 

Minimum Education and Experience
⦁    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
⦁    Seven to ten years of experience in controlling or accounting, preferably in manufacturing with a strong focus on inventory and material control.
⦁    Experience in asset registration and capitalization processes desired.
⦁    Strong systems knowledge of financial systems: Master Finance (S/4HANA), SAP, Business Objects is desired.
⦁    Experience with Mekko Graphics and/or Power BI, and ability to create clear visualizations to support a strong storytelling is a plus.
⦁    Fluency with Office 365 and familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) is considered an asset.
⦁    Understanding of IFRS and Mexican GAAP.
⦁    Fluency in English and Spanish, spoken and written is mandatory.
⦁    Valid US visa to enable frequent travel for coordination with North America teams.

Location: Monterrey, Mexico. Some travel may be required.
