Location:

Monterrey, NLE, MX, 65556

Position Type:  Professional

Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.

Introduction:

Are you a supply chain leader with a passion for continuous improvement, problem solving, and supplier performance?

We are looking for a Supplier Relationship Manager to lead a portfolio of suppliers and strengthen end-to-end supply chain performance across the Volvo Group network. In this role, you will be the primary interface for suppliers on delivery performance and operational readiness, working in close partnership with internal stakeholders across purchasing, logistics, manufacturing, quality, and other supply chain functions.

As part of a broader supplier-facing ecosystem, the Supplier Relationship Manager is accountable for supporting the operational wellbeing of the supply chain, and doing so in cooperation with teams in material control, purchasing, quality etc. This role is critical to creating clear ownership, strong cross-functional alignment, and one coordinated way of working with suppliers to improve performance, build resilience, and support uninterrupted operations.

Who’s your new team?

You will join a high-performing team focused on securing uninterrupted material flow to Volvo Group production plants and distribution centers. We work cross-functionally and directly with suppliers to improve delivery performance, reduce operational risk, strengthen resilience, and drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.

What’s your role in the team?

  • As Supplier Relationship Manager, you will own the supplier relationship from a delivery performance and supply chain execution perspective. You will serve as the main operational liaison between Volvo Group and suppliers, ensuring clear communication, aligned expectations, and transparent follow-up on supply performance.
  • This role is part of a group of functions that together manage different dimensions of supplier performance and supply chain success. Within that landscape, the Supplier Relationship Manager leads the operational dialogue with suppliers related to delivery execution, readiness, recovery, and improvement, while partnering closely with buyers and other stakeholders who manage commercial, contractual, quality, and technical topics.
  • You will work with suppliers to improve dispatch precision, reduce backlogs, secure sequence fulfillment, optimize inventory, and strengthen systematic alignment for greater efficiency. You will also lead supplier assessments such as MMOG/LE, translate findings into action plans, and drive structured follow-up to ensure sustainable improvements.
  • The role requires a strong understanding of EDI, including both batch and sequence flows, and the ability to explain how EDI impacts supplier execution, planning, and fulfillment. When critical suppliers underdeliver or cannot meet EDI requirements to the needed extent, you will lead emergency routines and recovery actions to protect supply continuity.
  • In addition, you will coordinate program sharing with high-profile suppliers to support transparency, improve ramp-up readiness, and ensure suppliers are prepared for future volume and operational changes. Through this work, you will help enable stronger supplier partnerships, better ways of working, improved resilience, and positive impact on cost savings, cost avoidance, and supply stability.
