Introduction

 

Financial Control & Accounting (FCA) is a part of Group Finance with the responsibility to secure that financial performance is correctly reflected for Business Areas, Truck Divisions, Group Functions and legal entities in the Volvo Group. FCA also provides global shared services through delivery centres in Accounting Services with quality-focused and process efficient service deliveries supporting local finance. We are approximately 1.400 FCA employees with a global footprint in 50+ countries. FCA is an innovative and transformative business providing professional expertise and financial value to the Volvo Group.

What you will do

 

The Head of FCA Belgium will represent FCA in the legal entities and take on the leadership of the FCA local finance and accounting department within Volvo Group Belgium nv.
Today a team of 13 people manage all delivery within the Finance and Accounting area/processes. e.g. Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash and Record to Report (accounting and fixed assets and taxes). This is done for different legal entities.
This role reports to the Director FCA Area Central Benelux Nordics.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • manage the accounting staff in FCA Belgium and secure a solid cooperation with the global delivery centers
  • steer the execution of the strategic objectives in FCA Belgium
  • drive the daily control and monitoring within all relevant accounting processes
  • manage the monthly closing process
  • deliver the complete financial reporting in the group consolidation system and statutory reporting.
  • secure compliance with internal control objectives, local GAAP’s and Financial Policies and Procedures
  • guarantee tax and financial compliance
  • coordination of the audits
  • assist in projects
  • secure the quality of deliveries to FCA partners
  • represent FCA in the legal entity
  • handle the financial and operational measurements in FCA governance model

Who are you?

 

  • Master degree in Business, Finance and Accounting
  • Experience and knowledge of Finance & Accounting operations – preferably min. 5 years
  • experience as Chief Accountant is an advantage
  • Experience in people management
  • Ability to positively influence and generate respect/trust from staff and external contacts
  • Proven ability to be the driver of the change
  • Fluent Dutch and English is mandatory (written and spoken)
  • Responsible, methodical and assertive
  • Proactive, well organized, motivated, highly analytical
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
