During 15 intense and exciting months, our Operations Graduate Program will give you a holistic view of our operational and logistic activities, including both the local and global perspective. You will be working with the technologies of tomorrow, building the products of the future – electric, connected and automated. In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions.

 

You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several local and international on the job-rotations and work on business critical projects developing your competencies for tomorrow. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts and our remanufacturing operations.

 

In addition, you will gather with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group. We offer the opportunity for you to be part of our digital transformation, applying new technologies to connect and automate our processes. Together we work with AI, data science, machine learning, circular systems, virtual manufacturing and more, to build our full electric or autonomous products.

Our organization

 

At the Group Trucks Operation Plant in Ghent, we build around 200 heavy-duty trucks per day. Guided by Continuous Improvement, the assembly plant provides a challenging working environment where our Customers’ Success is our number one priority. We are proud to deliver high quality trucks built with passion. 

What will you do?

 

In this role you play a crucial role in our digital journey and help us speed up the digital transformation of operations and supporting services in our factory. Your data solutions support the entire plant in making informed decisions based on data analysis and insights. As an E2E data analyst you will design, develop, deploy and maintain the data solutions you create

 

On a day-to-day basis you will take care of:

 

  • Data oriented business analysis
  • Data collection as well from existing sources as well as new sources e.g. via IoT
  • Data Cleaning and preparation for analysis
  • Data Validation and Quality Assurance: ensure the accuracy and reliability of data, conducting quality assurance tests and verifying the integrity of data sources. 
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: use statistical methods and analytical tools to analyze data and interpret the results to provide actionable insights 
  • Data Visualization: You can translate data results in an appropriate format (report, chart, dashboards,..) to facilitate decision making
  • Creation, maintenance & optimization of operational reports that support E2E flows in our plant e.g. OMS
  • Identifying use cases for ML, AI… and drive pilots to discover the learnings
  • Solving E2E Data related questions from local colleagues
  • Representing our plant on a regional level in data related topics

To succeed in this role we believe you have: 

 

  • a master's degree or equivalent through experience
  • the proficiency in or willingness to learn Power BI, Power Platform, Thingworx, Databricks, SQL and Python
  • passionate in working with data in a broad perspective
  • the ability to translate data insights into actions
  • a high level of analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Data Architecture Knowledge: Understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and database management to ensure efficient data flow and accessibility.
