In our region, we operate the Supply Planning, the Central Distribution Center (CDC) in Gent, the Support Distribution Centers across Europe, and the Service Centers.  We focus on agility, adapting swiftly and smartly to meet our customers' needs.

With 120,000 m² and more than 8 million order lines per year, the Central Distribution Center (CDC) in Gent is the largest warehouse in the Volvo Group.  Powered by over 800 brilliant and engaged team members, we ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of spare parts across the globe—for all our brands: Volvo Trucks, Volvo Construction Equipment, Penta, Volvo Bus, and Renault Trucks.

Your Mission: Drive impact through improvement – right at the heart of logistics

As a Packaging Engineer, you are a member of the warehouse engineering team - our engine for continuous improvement and future readiness. You develop new, tangible  packaging solutions, balancing many parameters such as safety, quality, sustainability and cost-effectiveness.

 

  • You define packaging specifications, storage requirements and transport packaging for new parts and existing parts
  • You support daily our operational teams with topics related to packaging
  • You drive impactful packaging-related projects with an open and critical mindset
  • You spread your operational knowledge with several stakeholders in and outside our organization

What Makes You a Perfect Match?

  • You have relevant experience with packaging and logistics (engineering background or degree is a plus)
  • You know how to drive improvements
  • You know how to communicate and adapt your style depending on who is in front of you
  • You feel at ease working in close collaboration with both global and operational teams taking the ownership to represent the warehouse in several networks
  • You work in a structured way, so that you can balance day-to-day topics with major milestones to reach
