Introduction
'Data & AI’ is a function within Volvo Digital & IT with the goal to unlock the power of data for the full Volvo Group to become a fully data-driven company! With data as the core component of our transformation journey, we will, together with our data talents, make the Volvo Group 2030 vision happen. We will take care of all aspects of Data, including quality assurance, documentation, availability, preparation, and use through BI, Analytics, and Machine Learning. We have an ambitious transformation ahead, with the implementation of the Data Layer in Azure and the reinforcement of Data Governance and Data Management across the entire Group.
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Data Modeler to join our team and play a key role in developing and managing a consistent, logical data model for the Volvo Group Unified Data Platform (UDP). In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our data models are optimized, accurate, and aligned to support our goal of becoming a truly data-driven company.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the Volvo Group Data Model (VGDM) for UDP, including the end-to-end model lifecycle, model boundaries, and overall development backlog.
- Establish modeling standards, guidelines, and ways of working for our stable teams, including change process, modeling best practices, golden examples and reusable templates.
- Support the data product teams to design and develop the Volvo Group logical and physical data model to enable the teams to build better data products using VGDM.
- Provide rapid mapping from business concepts and sources to the Teradata mLDM based structure to leapfrog development in targeted areas.
- Review and integrate model changes with strong quality controls (co-creation). Ensure alignment between model, glossary, and governance.
- Measure adoption and impact of the data model.
Who are you?
You have over 5 years of experience in data modeling, with a strong grasp of both normalized and de-normalized models. You are proficient in data analysis, familiar with the Teradata Vantage Data Model (or similar), and can work in an agile environment. You enjoy collaborating and have a knack for negotiating stakeholder interests. If you have experience with co-creation methods and a strong command of English, this role could be your perfect fit.
