About the VIE Program
 
The VIE, the International Internship Program, is a French international corporate placement program for young professionals between the age of 18 and 28 who are European Union nationals. This VIE is a 12 months contract starting 1st October 2025, located in Gent or Gothenburg.  

 

What you will do

 

At Logistics Purchasing EMEA you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You will: 

•    Take on the challenge of handling part of contract portfolios for logistics services
•    Learn the job and visualize improvement areas in the way we work in our teams
•    Conduct market analysis through RFIs
•    Take part in Sourcing projects and help to optimize Volvo’s supplier network
•    Take the lead on commercial negotiations
•    Drive and implement development projects and improvement initiatives
•    Challenge and influence us with your ideas
•    Support the positive mindset for continuous improvement
•    Support the team with various analysis’ and development activities
•    Digitalization and process automation is something you are interested in, and you actively take part in the digitalization journey that we have entered in Logistics Purchasing
 


Your future team

 

As a VIE in Logistics Purchasing you will be working in a team responsible for buying all logistics services for the Volvo Group in region EMEA. We have a very diverse team of buyers located in Sweden, France, Belgium and Poland. The team is characterized by unique people with a wide range of interests and skills. A combination of recently started colleagues, trained professionals, and experts with a high degree of experience. We seek a colleague that is passionate about logistics, purchasing and analytics – striving for continuously improving the way we work, making it better in every possible way.

To become our VIE in Logistics Purchasing, we believe you have these qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or Business Administration
•    Fluent in English (in speech and writing)
•    Very strong analytical and problem solving skills
•    Strong Negotiation skills
•    Strong general IT knowledge (preferably knowledge in optimization & visualization tools)
•    Agile & flexible
•    Communication skills and strong interest to develop good relationships with stakeholders
•    Strong autonomy
