What you will do
As an Employee Health & Safety Advisor, you will support the organization in all matters related to employee health, safety, workplace risk prevention, and regulatory compliance across Volvo Trucks Chile.
Based in Santiago, you will provide guidance and support to the entire dealership network throughout Chile, as well as to the Distribution Center. You will work closely with leaders, employees, operational teams, external authorities, and specialized partners to identify risks, ensure compliance with local legislation, and continuously improve health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across the organization.
You will:
- Identify workplace hazards and support the implementation of preventive and corrective actions.
- Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and improvement programs.
- Monitor and analyze data related to workplace injuries, illnesses, incidents, and absences.
- Lead accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and preventing recurrence.
- Provide expert guidance and training on safety protocols, risk prevention, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with Volvo Group standards and Chilean legislation.
- Coordinate and support the certifications, accreditations, documentation, and compliance processes required by local regulations.
- Support the implementation, certification, and continuous improvement of management systems, particularly ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, following up on findings, corrective actions, and certification requirements.
- Manage health and safety projects and follow up on related action plans.
- Promote a strong safety culture through communication, coaching, and collaboration across the organization.
Your Future Team
You will be part of the People & Culture organization, working closely with leaders, operational teams, employees, the dealership network, the Distribution Center, and other support functions.
You will play a key role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment across Volvo Trucks Chile, ensuring that health, safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements are integrated into daily operations, business decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The position is based in Santiago and requires availability to travel regularly to dealerships and operational locations throughout Chile.
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Prevention Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- More than five years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety, risk prevention, or related areas.
- Strong knowledge of Chilean health and safety legislation, regulatory requirements, and mandatory compliance processes.
- Proven experience supporting certifications, accreditations, and requirements established by local authorities.
- Experience in the implementation, maintenance, and certification of ISO management systems, particularly ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Experience coordinating internal and external audits and managing corrective and preventive action plans.
- Experience in operational environments, workshops, dealerships, distribution centers, or logistics operations is desirable.
- Experience with risk assessments, accident investigations, audits, and health and safety programs.
- Ability to manage projects and complex situations independently, with limited supervision.
- Strong analytical, communication, training, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- Availability to live in Santiago and travel throughout Chile.
- Fluent in Spanish. English proficiency is desirable.
