Sustainability Specialist

What you will do

At Volvo Trucks Chile you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You will: 

Play a key role in driving the sustainability transformation across Volvo Trucks Chile and the Latin American region, supporting the deployment of our global sustainability strategy at a local level.

You will lead and coordinate initiatives focused on decarbonization, circular economy, safety, diversity & inclusion, and social responsibility, ensuring alignment with Volvo Group ambitions and local regulatory requirements.

You will oversee environmental compliance and governance processes, including ISO standards and internal policies, while managing sustainability dashboards, KPIs, and reporting across the region.

You will collaborate closely with global and regional stakeholders, consolidating inputs from Latin American markets and representing Chile in global sustainability forums.

Additionally, you will develop and deliver sustainability training programs, support environmental certifications (such as Zero Waste to Landfill), and contribute to continuous improvement projects that generate measurable environmental and social impact.

We are looking for a purpose-driven professional who is passionate about sustainability and motivated to create real impact. You combine a strong technical foundation with a collaborative mindset and the ability to turn strategy into action.

Essential requirements

• A Master’s degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Management or a related field
• Proven experience in sustainability, environmental compliance, or ESG-related roles
• Strong knowledge of environmental standards, reporting frameworks, and governance processes
• Experience working with data, KPIs, and dashboards to track performance and drive decisions
• Ability to collaborate in a multicultural and cross-functional environment, influencing stakeholders at different levels
• Fluency in Spanish and a good command of English

Nice to have

• Experience in the transport, industrial, or automotive sector
• Knowledge of Volvo Group products, processes, or sustainability frameworks
• Experience with certifications such as ISO standards or Zero Waste to Landfill initiatives
• Background in training, change management, or cultural transformation initiatives
• Familiarity with digital tools for sustainability reporting and analytics
