About the Position

Volvo currently has an exciting job opportunity for a Warehouse Operator at our Reno, NV parts distribution center. Volvo offers a highly competitive wage and benefits package. You will work in an energetic and safe working environment alongside an engaged team of associates.

Description/Responsibility

  • You will be responsible for shipping orders to dealers throughout the United States to keep Mack, and Volvo trucks, as well as Volvo Construction Equipment, on the road.
  • You will work with a great team and Lean leaders to meet daily precision goals.
  • You will take all actions needed to provide the dealer network with excellent quality.
  • You will learn multiple functions and participate in a job rotation that keeps you motivated.
  • Volvo cares about the Environment, and you can help too by participating in local recycling and green initiatives.
  • Your ideas matter! Each employee is encouraged to come up with new ways of working to make our processes easier and more efficient.
  • Your voice can be heard – There are daily meetings held to review performance or deviations, plus an annual survey where each employee can submit their opinions on a variety of topics.
  • You will utilize a variety of industrial handling equipment while processing tasks daily.

You will have the authority to

  • Work with a dedicated shift to unload refill trailers needed to keep our shelves stocked with inventory.
  • Work with a high-energy shift to process stock and critical orders necessary to maintain the inventory of our dealer network.
  • Enhance safety programs and identify any potential risks via Safety Walks.
  • Work closely with your Supervisor to create a personal plan for development and growth.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • 6 months of related experience or training preferred.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions according to established procedures.
  • Ability to work overtime on an as needed basis.
  • Ability to pass a basic skills test which includes reading and mathematics.
  • Ability to speak read and write English.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to reach with arms and hands.
  • Required to stand, walk and use hands to handle tools/controls.
  • Required to sit, climb, balance and crouch.
  • Required to be able to lift minimum 70 lbs.
  • Specific vision and hearing abilities required.
  • Required to work at heights up to 25 feet on a raised platform.
  • Required ability to operate material handling equipment

For this position, the base pay is set at $23.75 - $28.00/hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
