What you will do

At Volvo Truck Latvia you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large.

 

Driver Trainer is responsible for training, coaching and evaluating truck drivers to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient driving practices. The role supports driver onboarding, refresher training, skills development and continuous improvement in line with company policies, legal requirements, and customer expectations. Driver Trainer plays the key role in the entire handover proccess.

 

Who are you?

  • Prooven experience as professional Truck driver.
  • Instructional or training experience is preferred.
  • Good knowledge about transport industry.
  • Valid driving licences: B, C, CE.
  • Knowledge of road safety, transport regulations, and fleet operations.
  • Knowledge of telematics, eco-driving, and safety management systems.
  • Knowledge of effective teaching concepts, or willingness to learn them.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct informational and practical training sessions for customers’ drivers.
  • Ensure effective teaching methods and learning concepts are applied.
  • Develop and improve drivers’ practical driving competence.
  • Instruct, supervise, and monitor driver actions throughout all phases of training.
  • Serve as a role model in conduct, behavior, and professional attitude.
  • Plan and coordinate training activities and ensure proper use of equipment.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain driver training manuals and supporting materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, performance, and progress.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other training-related documentation.
  • Communicate with customers during events and present truck technical innovations.
  • Cooperate with colleagues to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks sales department projects and programs.
  • Be responsible for company demo trucks, including safety and maintenance arrangements.
  • Transport vehicles to agreed locations when required.
  • Support truck registration processes for fleet registrations when required.
  • Support colleagues in truck delivery and handover processes.
  • Responsible for Volvo Connect and Renault Trucks Customer Portal (administration, development services sales).
  • Initiate improvements to the Driver Trainer function.
  • Maintain all required certifications and qualifications.
  • Carry out other work-related duties as assigned by the Manager.
