What you will do
As Simulation Engineer apprentice, you will be working on correlation activities between simulation environments (Simulation In the Loop & Hardware In the Loop), test cell results, and field test vehicles for electric and conventional Diesel truck powertrains.
More precisely, you will:
- Learn about our technology, products, and simulation ecosystem during a ramp-up phase.
- Review, develop and implement methods and tools for correlation across simulation and testing environments.
- Improve simulation models based on correlation findings.
- Create and maintain structured comparison reports.
- Document and present your work and results.
Your future team
You will be part of the Data & Simulation team, in the Powertrain Technology department, based in Lyon.
Our core mission is to accelerate powertrain engineering through the design, development and maintenance of complete systems using Data Science & Simulation. We are 8 engineers committed to helping our department evolve and become more data-driven, efficient and innovative thanks to curiosity, creativity, and collaborative problem-solving.

Other requirements for the position are:
- MSc Student in powertrain engineering or related fields
- Good understanding of powertrain systems and components (like engine, transmission, electric motor, battery, etc.)
- One experience in school or personal technical project related to simulation.
- Matlab/Simulink and similar tools
- Communication skills (both written and oral)
- Fluency in English
As a plus: GitHub, Jira, AI tools and methods to accelerate engineering workflows, experience with any innovation or design thinking methodology.
