Vehicle Certification & Compliance is part of Complete Vehicle organization within GTT.
The Vehicle Certification & Compliance teams are located worldwide but the products we are in charge of leads to close connections and a single organization containing Goteborg and Lyon sites.
Lyon team consists of Certification and Compliance engineers (9 persons) in charge of conducting necessary EC/UN ECE (European commission /United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) certification of components systems and Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) for Renault Heavy Duty and Renault & Volvo Medium duty trucks.
To sell a vehicle on the markets we -as manufacturer- need to certify our products, the certificate prove that our products meet all the legal requirements in the different markets.
We are now looking for a team member (Certification & Compliance Engineer) who will act in the fields and areas details in this offer.

What you will do
Applicable vehicle regulation requires manufacturers to ensure that each produced wheeled vehicle, equipment or part is in conformity with the approved type. Approval authorities are regularly verifying the conformity control methods applied in each production facility.
New way of working for sampling plan with also increase of the regulations amendments are leading to an increase of the sampling plan complexity, and thus an increase of number of audits and COP tests.
Your main task will consist in contributing to the activities related to this together with engineering, manufacturing, and vehicle certification.
From product evolutions and certification impacts associated point of view, you will also support in defining certification impacts, cost estimates and will represent certification team in some early stage within project organizations.
Your job could also partly evolve to a certification engineer activity. In this role, your task is to plan and perform certification testing with European authorities, test institutes and concerned project teams. You would have regular contact with engineers within the area of your responsibility, put prerequisites in the pre-study phase and accomplish certificates in time following our Global Development Process, and this for several certification areas. You would be involved in many projects and have a network both internally but also towards our type approval authorities.
You would be recognized as an important stakeholder as our task is to secure valid type approval and secure compliance in our areas of responsibility, this for new products or product modifications but also to implement new regulations
More precisely
For COP activities, you will have to:
- Put in place and maintain all needed checklists in PrAudit tool, inputs for COP audits;
- Participate in the COP yearly plan together with manufacturing;
- Represent the certification team during Approval Authority audits and COP tests in assembly plant;
- Contribute in solving of non-conformities.
For projects related activities, you will support in:
- maintaining certification product plan;
- coordinating work from certification teams accordingly.
If evolution partly of the activity to a certification engineer activity:
- Together with your network (incl. Approval Authorities) you will provide the certification requirements, impacts, cost estimate and the time plan;
- You will compile technical information documents;
- Then you will execute the certification plan in coordination with engineering, testing departments, Approval Authorities and publish the new or updated approvals/certificates.
All of these activities will be performed in synergy with a similar team located in Goteborg/Sweden. You will be located in Lyon/St Priest and will have the opportunity to travel in France and abroad.
