Intern: Manufacturing Engineer (Summer 2026)

What you will do

At Mack Medium Duty (MMD), you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. As the Manufacturing Engineer - Intern, you will support the production and engineering areas by securing and continuously improving the current processes for industrial engineering and assembly. This position will focus on improving methods and providing support during the assembly process. You must embrace fabrication, modification, and evaluation, supporting the assembly activities by: You will participate in designing the future of the factory by participating in exiting projects we are running.  In this journey, you will report to the Director of Industrial Engineering and collaborate alongside a team of approx. 15 Engineers.  The internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a manufacturing environment, and to support/promote the graduate’s career goals through interaction with manufacturing engineering professionals.  Interns participate in professional activities at the facility by working on practical, innovative, and important projects.  

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in industrial and systems engineer or mechanical engineering at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship.
  • Student should have minimum GPA of 2.75 
  • Summer interns may work up to 40 hours per week

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
