Mission/Purpose of the Job

  • Month end closing activities
    - Month end JV postings
    Monthly inventory reconciliations
    Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
    Maintenance of fixed asset module
  • VGCS reporting
  • Bi-Monthly Service Tax submission
  • Monthly submission of survey requested by Department of Statistics Malaysia
  • Quarterly Bank Negara Malaysia

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Inventory maintenance
• Fixed Asset support & maintenance
• Posting of JV’s - Ensure accurate and timely posting of financial transactions
• Coordination with sub-ledger PIC in ensuring accurate data is booked leading to a smooth closing
• Prepare monthly balance sheet schedule and reconciliation
• Research and analyze any unmatched and / or out of balance entries
• Ensure proper month-end procedure is followed
• Support period end financial closing & reporting activities and ensure an efficient and effective close is performed including preparing judgement-based accruals where required
• Support and participate in Audit, Tax & Company Control related activities
• Responsible for submission requested by regulatory bodies (Bank Negara Malaysia and Department of Statistics Malaysia)
• Responsible to enforce control matters and processes
• Meet SLA and performance targets related to the R2R processes
• Participate and implement in Companywide or Global system and process improvements
• Treasury tasks ie Bank reconciliation, fund transfer requests and bank related matters.
• Any other duties as directed​​​​​​​

  • Deliver accurate daily report to ensure business operations run smoothly
  • Meet the reporting deadline for monthly closing with minimum errors
  • Maintain good relationship with business/ stakeholders to ensure productivity, continued improvement and seamless service
  • Support the business different area

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Good knowledge in SAP
  • Exposure in Blackline, Power BI is an added advantage
  • Good knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping.

Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certificates

  • Possesses a university Degree in Accounting

Necessary Technical/Functional/Language Skills

  • Highly computer literate (Microsoft Office suite)
  • Communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and delivers on time.
  • Conscientious, integrity and team player qualities are essential.
  • Proactive, detail oriented, result oriented
  • Well verse with accounting and technical processes.
