What you will do
We are currently hiring Commodity Buyer for a two-year contract position, based at our TTSC office in Shanghai.
Perform purchasing activities within the scope of Services, Digital and Investments purchasing to optimize QDCFTSR within a decided area of responsibility. Accountable for QDCFTSR Supplier performance for assigned Segment Portfolio in the region of China&SEA, keep continuous improvement on QDCFTSR performance by using the tools and purchasing/cross functional network.
QDCFTSR: Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management.
• Contribute to the Segment Business Plan (SBP) and lead Regional Segment Business Plan.
• Actively participate in the development of the global Segment Business Plan.
• Contribute the regional specific input and make alignment with global segment leader.
• Drive and execute the implementation of the SBP through Sourcing activities, contract management, supplier management etc.
• Lead the regional Segment Business Plan creation, implementation and regularly update accordingly.
• Lead sourcing activities/negotiations to ensure the deliverables and performance for responsible segments.
• Secure Supplier selection is aligned with the SBP.
• Execute, update and renew supplier agreements.
• Contribute to global segment sourcing activities/negotiations.
• Secure Suppliers understand and comply to Volvo requirements and procedures.
• Secure the supplier selection based on quantitively scoring matrix.
• Actively involve stakeholders to engage in sourcing phases and align the right suppliers and right features to be sourced at the beginning.
• Drive and develop Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) plans for responsible suppliers, and manage supplier business review meetings with suppliers and stakeholders regularly with action plan following up.
• Contribute to the Segment administration/Supplier Base Management regularly.
• Perform updates of Supplier classification or categorization.
• Perform updates of Payment Terms, Currency Terms etc. in line with Group Policies.
• Keep the suppler scoring card correct in purchasing system and keep updated.
• Perform daily operational purchasing activities / Purchase Order management.
• Drive and secure KPI target fulfilment / Purchasing Portfolio Management.
• Drive Regional/Local Stakeholder Network and work as SD&I ambassador role for specific stakeholders.
• Contribute knowledge and experience to the Segment Buyer network consisting of Segment Leader, Commodity and Project Buyers.
• Contribute the sustainability journey in Net Zero emission commitment by 2040 via sustainable supply chain management.
Who are you?
Bachelor’s degree or above.
• Minimum with 5 years of experience in purchasing, indirect purchasing experience is preferred.
• Experience in supplier selection processes.
• Extensive experience in project management.
• Good negotiation skills.
• Good communication and presentation skills in English.
• Be passionate, curious, self-confidence, self-learning, positive attitude, owner’s mentality.
