GTP APAC is an organization within GTP that takes an end-to-end responsibility for purchasing related activities in the APAC region. The countries in scope are China, South Korea & South-East Asia, Australia,South Africa and India with the GTP APAC headquarters based in Bangalore, India.
Mission
As Head of Supply Network Quality (SNQ) and Supply Network Resilience (SNR) China, South Korea and South-East Asia, you will have full responsibility for all operational SNQ & SNR activities. You are formally responsible for the quality performance of the supply chain partners of the Volvo Group delivering to our plants globally. Together with team, you secure the suppliers improve their performances and to bring improvement in the current supply chain process thus creating value for the customers. You lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers in close collaboration with your colleagues from SNR, Buying, Design Engineering, Plant Quality and Field Quality departments. You also capitalize on global knowledge and competence sharing within SNQ and SNR.
Your responsibility also includes actively contributing to your team members' development, both professionally and personally as well as building strong teams with great team spirit.
Reporting to: Head of GTP China, South Korea and South-East Asia
Location: Shanghai, China
Main Responsibilities
- Work in accordance with the Volvo processes, the Code of Conduct and the Volvo Values.
- Be a member in GTP China, South Korea and South-East Asia Leadership Team and in an active way contribute to the development of the departments.
- Manage the development of staff.
- Drive and lead the SNQ and SNR activities in accordance with defined strategies and targets.
- Ensure close interaction with suppliers, develop and work with the team to ensure common strategy is driven and communicated to the suppliers.
- Ensure the best supplier selection in strong collaboration with Buyers and Technology & Supplier Evaluation team.
- Manage the fulfilment of APQP & PPAP for projects and product maintenance.
- Actively support process harmonization and best practice sharing within SNQ & SNR network.
- Co-owns SNQ Knowledge, and actively lead knowledge sharing within geographic scope.
- Secure quality, capacity and cost targets and KPI fulfillment.
- Secure needed communication with cross functional teams.
Competence & Experience
- University degree in Engineering/Technology/Business.
- Proven experience in purchasing, quality, manufacturing or product development from the automotive industry.
- Strong customer focus and business mindset.
- Be proactive, can also face problems and act quickly under pressure with high pace.
- Be able to make good decisions in collaboration with internal stakeholders, with risks, opportunities and alternative solutions in mind.
- Good communication skills in English and Chinese.
- Ability to create networks and lead cross-functional activities within multi-cultural teams.
- Provide direct & actionable feedback to the team members.
- Ability to manage and foster diversity and inclusiveness and offer opportunities for personal/professional development to the team members.
- Ability to build an effective team with a common objective, strong morale and spirit.
