What you will do

Internal control provides the essential assurance regarding the reliability of Volvo Group’s financial disclosures and ensures strict adherence to global legal frameworks. In this capacity, your primary objectives will be:

  • Governance & Compliance: Uphold the integrity of Group directives and policies, establishing the necessary conditions for robust control activities within key financial reporting processes.
  • Strategic Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, empowering them to maintain an uncompromising internal control environment.
  • Program Coordination: Orchestrate the Volvo Group Internal Control Program, systematically evaluating the quality and effectiveness of ICFR through a structured annual cycle.
  • Executive Reporting: Synthesize complex evaluation data into high-impact reports for senior-level stakeholders, providing clarity on the regional risk posture.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of Risk and Controls Matrices (RACM), Risk mapping and Control Documentation.
  • Coordination of Volvo Internal Control System (VICS) annual Self-Assessment and control testing within a region.
  • Support local management to resolve weaknesses.
  • Support management with accounting and control processes and projects to implement best practice, eliminate inefficiencies, and mitigate compliance risk.
  • Identification and reporting of Risk to Volvo CE Group internal Control.
  • Training and coaching locally on matters of Internal Control, Compliance & Best Practice.
  • Influencing stakeholders within the function by clearly explaining relevant facts, policies and practices
  • Analyzing and resolving difficult and sometimes complex issues in a structured and effective way

Who are you?

  • Expert Foundations: You hold a university degree in Finance or Accounting, supported by a distinguished career in Financial Reporting and Internal Control. A background in a "Big 4" audit firm and a strong command of data analytics are highly valued.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: You are an authority on Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR), with extensive experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of controls within both complex manufacturing value chains and commercial sales/dealer environments.
  • Strategic Leadership: You possess proven leadership and project management skills, characterized by a supportive approach and the ability to build robust professional networks within a decentralized, global organizational structure.
  • Innovative & Process-Driven: You are driven by a desire to innovate, with a track record of success in navigating both high-stakes projects and continuous, process-oriented workflows.
  • Pragmatic Problem-Solver: You balance a meticulous eye for detail with a focus on delivering pragmatic, executable solutions, underpinned by a proactive "can-do" attitude and high integrity.
  • Bilingual Communicator: You possess the ability to communicate with impact and influence across diverse stakeholder groups, with full professional fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
