What you will do

Service Operations & Technology (SO&T) is the engine behind customer uptime and service growth within the Volvo Group. As part of Truck Technology & Industrial (TTI), we bring together uptime & service technology, purchasing, logistics and remanufacturing into one global end-to-end organization. 

Within SO&T, Reman+ has more than 80 years of expertise in delivering high-quality remanufactured products that extend the lifetime of vehicles and machines while supporting the circular economy. With production sites across Europe, North and South America, India and China, we serve customers worldwide through a competitive global remanufacturing network. 

The China site produces remanufactured engines, hydraulics and other service market products, with the potential to grow product and business portfolio by supporting the Asia-Pacific region. 

As a Manufacturing Engineer, Transmission Remanufacturing, you will be part of the project engineering team that supports production with technical solutions for production processes, equipment and layout, as well as implementation of new products and product design changes related to transmission, DPF and other components.   

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the local production site and be the connection with Product Development and Pilot Plants in product/design related questions and changes. 
  • Design, develop, and implement new or revised remanufacturing processes for the cost-efficient reman/refurbish products. 
  • Design and set requirements for manufacturing equipment and tools. 
  • Design and optimize factory layout set-up. 
  • Develop and maintain work instructions for production teams. 
  • Lead or participate in new product industrialization projects. 
  • Management of BOMs and Design Change Notifications. 
  • Lead and coordinate maintenance activities. 
  • Closely work and collaborate with global engineering and logistics teams in France/Sweden/China. 

Who are you?

Your profile: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Mechatronics or a related Engineering field. 
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing engineering or a related role, preferred in powertrain systems (Engine, Transmission, Hydraulics...etc) industries. 
  • Experience in green field plant/production line is an advantage. 
  • Experience in service market, reman or technical training is an advantage 
  • Skilled in CAD tools. 
  • Knowledge of safety procedures. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Project management experience and ability to work cross-functionally. 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. 
  • Fluent in English and Chinese, in speaking and writing. 
  • Open to occasional overseas business trips.
