Responsibilities and Areas of Influence
In this highly visible position you will manage all Legal matters for Volvo CE in North America, including Owned Dealerships and other affiliated Volvo CE business. You will contribute to the business execution and success in North America, as a member of the leadership team of the Sales Region in North America, and also as a member of the Volvo CE global Legal & Compliance team.
Your areas of responsibility will thus include:
- Direct and manage all legal matters for Region North America, site functions and related companies by providing timely, effective legal advice and counsel.
- Manage the Volvo CE’s legal risks and protect our legal rights
- Direct and manage activities related to any investigation and defense against suits or product liability claims; and prepare the prosecution of the Companies' claims against third parties, in all cases striving to achieve the best balance of cost and results.
- Effectively communicate and contribute to the Sales Management team Region North America, or the applicable executive management group, regarding the Companies' legal risks and legal rights.
- Manage the preparation and interpretation of legal reports, statements and other similar documentation.
- Provide legal guidance to other Volvo CE companies on applicable US laws and regulations.
- Hire, develop and mentor the specialists on your legal and product regulation team
- Engage and manage all the Companies' relationships with outside legal service providers
Who are you?

Required knowledge, experience, education:
- Have a Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school
- Are qualified to practice law as in-house counsel in applicable jurisdiction
- Have 10+ years of experience in a law firm or corporate environment, handling issues across multiple lines of business
- Have the ability to periodically travel both internationally and domestic

For this position, the base salary range is set at [$212,800 - 262,900], and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
