We are looking for a Head of Quality (Product) in our Operations team that is highly motivated to oversee and manage product quality team members and process. We need someone who can foster a continuous improvement culture focused on waste elimination, employee engagement, and application/practice of zero-defect mindset. Our Head of Quality will facilitate a quality culture across all aspects of the business, both internal and external using influence and networking
This position will require you to think with a systemic view that focuses on the customer and business needs. You will work collaboratively with the different stakeholders in operations, purchasing, technology and sales to ensure Shippensburg product always meets customer satisfactions. In your work you will embrace all three principles of the Volvo CE philosophy: Flow, Continuous Improvement, and Perform & Develop.
Main Responsibilities
To be successful and have fun in this role we believe you’ll need:
- A passion for product and process quality, problem solving, and customer satisfaction.
- Leadership experience to lead Quality team members and support developing their competencies
- The ability to build a strategy to create culture and mindset change towards Quality. The skill to nourish the “customer first” and “zero defect” spirits.
- An ability to review data and process, to propose and work in a Quality-first Production Model that considers benefits to safety, first time through and PDI-output and reduces cost of quality by improving quality at the source.
- The competence to identify and analyze internal fault and field failure data, and to oversee the connection and calibration between customer feedback, Product Audit and first time through gates to implement correct action and eliminate root cause of problems.
- Experience doing root cause analysis/problem solving and knowledge of different problem-solving tools
- The ability to administer Ship Holds, Stop Shipments and Lead Alarm meeting processes
- An understanding of how to maintain and report KPI and PI related to Product Quality
- The ability to collaborate well with a team and be driven to establish continuous improvement.
- To collaborate with the business and your team and maintain process changes for the Quality Management System.

Required knowledge, experience, education:
- A Bachelor of Science in Engineering or applicable field is preferred
- At least 5 years’ experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality, or Continuous Improvement.
- English fluency and a strong communication skill.
