Intern: Engineering, Asphalt Compaction (Fall 2025)
Shippensburg, PA, US, 17257
Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.
What will you do
Join our dynamic Electro-Mobility (E-Mob) team and work directly alongside experienced Electro-Mechanical Engineers to explore and develop cutting-edge electromobility solutions for Volvo's compaction product line. In 2024, Volvo made a significant step toward a more sustainable future with the launch of its first battery-electric compactor. Now, the E-Mob team is at the forefront of advancing this momentum by driving the development of innovative electric features and sustainable technologies that will shape the future of our industry.
In this role, you will be fully integrated into the E-Mob team, functioning as a core contributor much like a full-time engineer. You’ll collaborate on ongoing initiatives, support critical engineering activities, and take ownership of select projects from concept to execution. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while contributing meaningful work that has real-world impact.
Our team is small, agile, and self-directed, empowered to prioritize and manage our own workflows to maximize efficiency and innovation. Much of the work takes place in our on-site prototype facility, where we focus on practical experimentation, component builds, and real-time problem-solving in a highly collaborative environment.
If you're passionate about sustainable technology, excited by hands-on engineering, and eager to contribute to the next generation of electromobility solutions, this is the opportunity for you.
Who are you?
