What you will do
The preferred candidate will have interest and availability to begin as early as March 1, 2026, and continue into the summer term.
At Volvo Construction Equipment you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large.
The role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment and to support/promote the students’ career goals through contacts with professionals in their fields of study. The intern experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo Group by working on important and innovative projects. Intern are structured learning experiences where interns and our full time professionals work together on projects within their selected organizations. The intern assignments allow students to integrate knowledge and skills in manners that are mutually beneficial to the students and Volvo Group.
You will work directly with the Manufacturing Finance team at VCE. Our team is energetic, motivated, creative, and inclusive.
The Financial Analyst Intern will support the Finance team with financial analysis, reporting, and cost tracking related to manufacturing operations. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and exposure to real-world financial decision-making.
- Assist with monthly financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support manufacturing cost analysis, including labor, material, and overhead
- Help track and analyze budget vs. actual performance for plant operations
- Prepare and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reports
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to support data-driven decisions
- Participate in process improvement and cost-saving initiatives
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed
Who are you?
You ideally are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or other related fields, and must have completed 30 credit hours or more prior to the start of the internship. To fit our ideal profile, you will be highly motivated and possess strong interpersonal skills. You are able to support the company within all levels of the organization. You are able to apply your knowledge on the job and communicate your knowledge to individuals within the organization. You are located in the local area and are able to commute to work throughout your internship.
Summer interns may work up to 40 hours per week and must be enrolled as a full-time student.
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 GPA.
Your skillset/competencies include:
- Self-driven
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, including Power BI and Power Apps)
- Interest in Finance
- Good time management skills
- Strong communication skills (must interact cross-functionally throughout the business)
- Detail-oriented
- Quick learner who can work in a fast-paced environment

The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
