Intern: IT Specialist (Summer 2026)

What you will do

What You’ll Do

  • Provide first-level IT support for employees (hardware, software, and connectivity)
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues for IT related end user equipment
  • Help set up and maintain IT equipment, user accounts, and system access
  • Participating in IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Learn and follow Volvo CE cybersecurity and safety standards

Who are you?

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship. 
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75
  • Summer interns may work up to 40 hours per week.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing floor environments

 

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Prior internship or hands-on IT experience
  • Familiarity with Windows OS and Microsoft 365
  • Interest in manufacturing, automation, or Industry 4.0

 

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
