Job Summary:

As a Market Research Intern, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our market research efforts to gain insights into customer satisfaction, brand strength, and competitive landscapes. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our experienced market research team, contributing to strategic decision-making processes. The Market Research Intern will be responsible for assisting in the collection, analysis, and presentation of data to help inform business decisions. 

Responsibilities & Main Tasks:

In this role, you will support the management and communication of market research survey activities by engaging with key stakeholders across North America, including the dealer network, employees, and customers. You will be tasked with sharing insights from our key surveys to illustrate and enhance our customer experience by bringing our data to life. These surveys include the Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS), Dealer Satisfaction Survey (DSS), Global Brand Track Survey (GBT), and the Competitive Satisfaction Survey (COSS). These surveys measure our customer experience by tracking the purchase experience, ownership experience, and service experience of Volvo CE North America. This role will also support the collection, analysis, and presentation of competitive intelligence to key audiences. 

Educational / Knowledge Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a Business degree in Marketing or Data Analytics at an accredited institution and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship.
  • A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 is required.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex data and draw insights.
  • Familiarity with AI productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support data analysis and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI or statistical analysis software is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data and insights clearly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is needed.
  • Fall interns may work up to 30 hours per week.
  • A minimum of 15 working hours per week is required.

Manage Day-to-Day Survey Process:

  • Maintain monthly reporting for the Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS).
  • Engage, support and onboard both dealers and internal staff into the survey portal.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders with developments on both research and the tools supporting
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and global support teams, coordinating system access requests and ensuring timely issue resolution.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of surveys, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
  • Assist in the collection and packaging of competitive information through designated channels.

Communicate Results of Surveys:

  • Collect, organize, and analyze survey data using statistical software and techniques.
  • Identify trends and patterns in the data and provide actionable insights to the team.
  • Leverage AI‑powered analytics (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to interpret survey responses and enhance data-driven insights.
  • Create reports and presentations that effectively communicate survey results to key stakeholders.
  • Support the team in developing and implementing strategies to improve customer satisfaction and retention.

Miscellaneous:

  • Participate in Marketing Team activities and support the team as needed with various tasks. These can vary and help round out a more diverse experience

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
